Investing in premium, quality sterling silver takes time and thought, we have prepared some frequently asked questions to put any worries at ease.

 

What Is A Hallmark?

A hallmark is part of a system of marks impressed on silver or gold items by an assay office to moniter its purity. In Britain, the hallmark consists of the assay mark (eg the lion passant for .925 pure sterling silver) and other symbols denoting the place of assay, date and maker. With its comprehensive records, the system helps the public to identify items and guard against forgeries. Established at the end of the 14th century, it is the one of the world's oldest and most stringent quality control systems.

 

 

Can The Pieces We Have Bought Be Engraved For An Event?

Any items that can be engraved are marked with an option for engraving in the store. We have a selection of fonts available. We can even engrave monograms or your company logo on some items. All engraving is done in house and usually doesn't add more than one day to your delivery date. If you have any queries regarding engraving please don't hesitate to ask.

 

 
How Long Will It Take To Receive My Gifts?

If the item is in stock it will be sent within 24 hours of receiving your order. The delivery dates will appear during checkout on the delivery options. The date of delivery will be next to each method. Please note the 1st and 2nd class delivery methods are not guaranteed delivery dates as these are sent with standard post. If you have a deadline to make it may be best to contact us for a guarantee on delivery dates.

 

 

How Can I Be Confident When Buying From Silver Groves?

Do You Ship Purchases Abroad?

We can deliver your Silver Groves Gifts anywhere in the world. Depending on where they are being sent, shipping, insurance and delivery costs for your goods will be confirmed before you place your order.

 

 

Is Sterling Silver The Best Quality In The World?

Sterling silver standard (.925) has proven to be the best.  It is the optimum standard that most countries have now changed to because it combines both malleability and durability.  Purer grades of silver wear too quickly and harder grades give an inferior dull colour and cannot be worked into the same fine forms.

 

 

Can I Return The Item For A Refund?

Please refer to our after sales and returns for further details. Unfortunately we do not give refunds for bespoke/engraved items. If you are claiming against damage to your item, photographic evidence must be provided within five working days of receiving the item and given upon initial email.

 

Can I Exchange For Another Item?

If the item you bought is not as expected and you would prefer another, we can do an exchange providing that the item is sent back in its original packaging and condition and the item you wish to exchange with is the same price. If the item is of a higher cost you will be asked to pay the additional funds. If the item is cheaper we will refund the difference. Please note this does not apply to made-to-order items or engraved items.

 

Please note: we will not be able to exchange the items until we receive the original. If the item is engraved, under most circumstances, we will not be able to exchange as all engraved items are made to order and not resalable.

 

 

Do I Get A Discount If Ordering In Bulk?

We do offer discounts for ordering in bulk. However, as our price range can alter from a £5 item to £500 – we request that you either call us or email your enquiry so that we can give you a custom discount code.

 

 

Can I Get My Item Gift Wrapped?

Our gift wrapping team specialises in wrapping your item to perfection using our matt silver paper to achieve the finest result your recipient will love.

Most items are available to be gift wrapped on the site. However, items that do not have a casing like some of our keyrings are not able to be wrapped.

In most cases we do try to wrap the item, if not we will be in contact on the day of dispatch to refund the gift wrapping charges.

 

 

Does My Item Have A Hallmark?

The vast majority of our Sterling Silver items are hallmarked, by law all items over a certain weight must be hallmarked. The hallmark may be small and discrete but will appear and occasionally require a jewellers glass to read. Items with a larger feature hallmark will usually be specified in the product image or name.
